One of the main reasons most Americans are suffering from one or more chronic diseases and disorders, including cancer, diabetes, IBS, and dementia, is because they eat conventional foods regularly that contain pesticides, herbicides and insecticides, instead of eating clean organic food. Western medicine quacks have zero advice about this, making matters worse.
Glyphosate, a known carcinogenic ingredient in most weed-killer, is also used as a drying agent for conventional crops before they are harvested and put in the silos. That means nearly every conventional food product contains some bug killer and weed killer chemicals (plus GMOs) that drive chronic inflammation and wreck the cleansing organs to the extent that eventually, they fail and you die.
Glyphosate, the world’s most common herbicide, may significantly increase the risk of chronic liver disease — even at low exposure levels — according to a sweeping review of over 40 studies published in Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology on April 28.
The research, analyzing data from the past 17 years, found strong associations between glyphosate exposure and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), a condition affecting more than one-third of people globally. With glyphosate present in food, water, and even human urine worldwide, scientists warn that current safety standards may need urgent reassessment.
The review highlights alarming connections between glyphosate — and its breakdown product, AMPA — and liver inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis, all hallmarks of MASLD. Human studies showed that individuals with higher urinary glyphosate levels were more likely to exhibit fatty liver disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular issues. Notably, women aged 40–60 with prediabetes faced the strongest effects.
Animal and cell studies reinforced these findings, demonstrating that glyphosate disrupts fat metabolism and triggers liver damage. “Although these studies are in their early stages… they undeniably highlight a significant potential relationship,” the authors wrote, calling for expanded research.
MASLD cases have surged by 50% in the last 30 years — mirroring a 280% increase in herbicide use, largely due to glyphosate-resistant genetically modified crops. The chemical, classified as a probable carcinogen in 2015, is now detected in 60% of U.S. vegetables and in urine samples globally. Regions with high pesticide use, like Latin America, also report elevated MASLD rates, suggesting an environmental link.
Researchers emphasize that commercial glyphosate-based herbicides (GBHs), such as Roundup, may be more toxic than glyphosate alone. Recent studies also tie the chemical to birth weight reduction, metabolic disruption, and even circadian rhythm interference. “There’s an urgent need” to study these mixtures’ cumulative effects, the team urged.
As glyphosate remains embedded in global agriculture, its potential health impacts can no longer be ignored. With MASLD looming as a silent epidemic, scientists stress that proactive research and stricter regulations are critical to safeguarding public health. The findings underscore a pressing question: How much longer can society overlook the hidden costs of widespread herbicide use?
